Graveside sevices for Ruby A. Clopton, 92, who died Thursday in Midland, Texas, will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in the IOOF Cemetery. The Rev. Dr. Glenn W. Doak will officiate. Primrose Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Clopton was born June 4, 1895, in Bennett, Mo., to the late John W. and Virginia Horner Whitwell.

Her family moved to Oklahoma in 1904 and to Norman in 1910.

She attended Edmond Normal School (now Central State University) and graduated from the Univerity of Oklahoma.

She taught in Norman Public Schools, teaching at Jefferson Elementary School for 30 years. In 1959, she was named Cleveland County Teacher of the Year. She retired in June 1960.

She was a longtime member of the American Legion Auxiliary, serving one term as president, and she was a member of First Presbyterian Church for over 50 years.

Survivors include three daughters, Frances Williams of Midland, Texas, Sue Maloch of Athens, Texas, and Royleta Malone of Salt Lake City, Utah; 12 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Hazel Barton of Sun City, Calif.
