Mildred Pryor died Tuesday, Sept. 30, in Norman.
Graveside services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Tuesday, at Norman
IOOF Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Primrose
Funeral Home.
Mildred Frances Bean was born Nov. 1, 1906, in Saratoga, Texas,
the daughter of William T. And Sarah Bean. She married Dick Pryor
in Sept. 5, 1925.
She received her bachelor's degree from Central State University,
and her master's degree from the University of Oklahoma. She taught
school for many years and retired from Norman Public Schools in
1969. She was a member of Kappa Kappa Iota.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dick Pryor; and a son,
Richard Pryor.
She is survived by a brother, W.T. Bean of Lampassas, Texas; a
daughter, Edna Cate of Cupertino, Calif.; grandchildren, John Cate of
Walnut Creek, Calif.; Julie Clinton of Sunnyvale, Calif.; and Dick
Pryor of Norman; great grandchildren, Rebecca and Greg Pryor of
Norman, and Matthew and Meaghan Cate of Walnut Creek; and
a daughter-in-law, Nell Pryor of Norman.
