Willie Frances (Kite) Simpson, 91, of Norman, died Dec. 25 in Midwest City. Services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 28 at the Havenbrook Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. David Spain officiating. Internment will follow at the Norman IOOF Cemetery in Norman. Services are under the direction of Havenbrook Funeral Home in Norman.

Willie was born in Kite on Jan. 9, 1914, to Charles and Lenora Carter Kite. She graduated from East Central College in Ada in 1932. She married Theron G. (Coot) Simpson Nov. 14, 1936 in Ada,She later received a master's degree in teaching from the University of Oklahoma. She started her teaching career near Allen in 1934 and taught or was principal in Kite, Ada and Stratford. She aso spent the last 19 years of her more than 41 years teaching at Jackson Elementary School in Norman. She retired from teaching in 1975.

Willie was a life-long Oklahoma Education Association member, a member of Kappa Kappa Iota and First Christian Church of Norman. After retirement, she worked for the Coot Simpson Construction Company for 15 years and she was also an avid Ou sports fan.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Theron G. Simpson Jr. and two brothers, Frank and Haskell Kite.

Survivors include a sister, Jodie George of Ada; brother, Sam Kite and wife, Aline, of Ft. Worth, Texas, daughter-in-law, Glenda M. Simpson, of Norman; two grandsons, Travis T. Simpson and wife, Petra, of Edmond and Terry D. Simpson of Studio City, Calif.; great-grandchildren, Tanner, Micheal and Raelyn of Edmond and Alene of Studio City and special friend Mary Lou Skaggs.
