Lee D. Webster, 70, Purcell, died today in Norman Regional Hospital after a brief illness. Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in the First Baptist Church in Purcell with the Rev. Wayne Brown officiating. Burial will be in the Paoli Cemetery under the direction of Little's Funeral home.

Born Sept. 8, 1915, in Winfield, Ala., Mr. Webster moved to Garvin County as a child. He was a graduate of Paoli High School and received his bachelors degree in 1937 from East Central State in Ada. From 1939- 1962, he lived in Purcell. He moved away for several years, then returned to Purcell in 1972. In 1976, he retired as a schoolteacher, having taught in Goins, Roady Walker, Wayne and Norman. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Purcell.

Survivors include his wife, Leola, of the home; two sons, Wayne of Dallas, Texas and Jim of Sand Springs; five sisters, Irene and Virginia Vaughn of Wynnewood, Delma Dooley of Oklahoma City, Marjorie Caldwell of Washington and Mary Mauldin of Paoli; and several nieces and nephews.
