There really isn’t an easy answer to why she changed her name. I know Allegra means happiness and that was probably what she was searching
for and she considered herself a weaver (she made fabric on a loom) so she just put the two together. It was a way to separate herself from the
past, I’d imagine. It was difficult for me at first but I must say that in the years since, I’ve met quite a few people who’ve taken on a new first
name. Guess it isn’t as unusual as I thought….

Thanks for sharing the sad news about Vicki. I remember her when we were in Plane Geometry class together...she had a lovely smile and was always very upbeat.
